    City Mayor Gamao welcomes Ambassador in line with Drug Reformation efforts

    Lieutenant General Patrick Lami, the Ambassador of Goodwill from Belgium and the representative of the United Nations Office of Anti-Drug Council (UNODC) sat down with City Mayor James G. Gamao, Thursday June 1.
    The ambassador was accompanied by Laarni Razul, the City Values Formation Officer and Bishop Balmis T. Diao Jr. of the Association of Christian Schools Education.
    The said courtesy call is in preparation of the conference on Anti-Drug Abuse Awareness Program scheduled on Sunday, June 4 at the City Hall lobby which will be spearheaded by the METRO DAVAO CODEPS SUPPORT GROUP INC. and GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER-MINDANAO.
    “All sectors of our society must cooperate in the fight against drug abuse,” says Razul. Hence, their effort to coordinate with the Local Government Unit of Panabo.
    The program aims to develop sustainable livelihood, treatment and counseling procedures for drug-affected individuals, and awareness training for the barangay captains.
    “If we give the drug-affected people something to own then they will have esteem. It is never too late for reformation,” says Lt. Gen. Lami, who is also the resource person of the said conference.
    Mayor Gamao expressed his utmost support for the said advocacy.

    By SEA, Panabo City is accessible through the Sasa port of Davao City. From Davao City you can choose among the numerous public vehicles to bring you to Panabo City.
