REPLENISHING LIVES: DOLE XI grants Kauswagan its very own Water Refilling Station

by Sigfred Navasquez - CIO Panabo
Drinking a glass of water to quench ones thirst is undeniably one of life’s simplest pleasures.
Now, the people of Kauswagan, one of Panabo City’s far-flung barangays, need not go far from their homes to have access to clean and potable water as the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office XI grants the Kauswagan Water Sanitation Cooperative, more commonly known as KAWASACO, their very own water station, June 21.
The KAWASACO Water Refilling Station is the national government and the local government’s joint thrust in providing not only the 150 members of the said cooperative a livelihood, but also giving the people of Kauswagan a convenient and safe place to get drinking water for their families.
DOLE XI recognizes the effort exerted by the Local Government Unit of Panabo through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) headed by Cherelle B. Espinosa, on informing the regional office about the current situation of Barangay Kauswagan. The LGU has made it certain that the DOLE’s eyes are set on creating an avenue for these people to earn income.
As the ribbon was cut signaling the formal opening of the said station for business, the smiles of the members of KAWASACO reflected a kind of hope that comes with having another chance at stability. This is made vocal through the words of their Chairman Mr. Reynante B. Descartin, as he expressed his sincere gratitude.
