Mrs. Segudina Parutso from Prk. 4 Malativas, Panabo City is one of the 30 farmers has finally graduated her training during the Farmers Field School (FFS) graduation conducted by City Agriculture Office (CAGRO) at Agriculture Training Institute (ATI), Barangay Datu Abdul on January 31, 2013

“Nagpasalamat ko kay Mayor Jose L. Silvosa, uban sa taga-ATI og sa Department of Agriculture (DA) nga nagtimbayayong sa paghatag niining programa kay dako kinig katabang sa among kaumahan,” Mrs. Segundina said during her interview.

          Part of their training was applying the Integrated Pest Management (IPM). It emphasizes the growth of a healthy crop with the least possible disruption to agro-ecosystems and encourages natural pest control mechanisms.

IPM coordinator Ms. Anabella Madalo said that the graduates should apply their skills that they learn during the training and plant vegetable as their business. She also wishes that they should learn more as they plant more seeds.

          Present during the graduation were Facilitator from Mati City Ms. Joanne F. Abulayan, City Agriculturist Mr. Alejandro Mayato, Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Dominador Encarnacion, Facilitator-LGU-Magsaysay Mr. Noel Emundo, Facilitator-OPAG-Digos City Mr. Ferdinand Crispino and IPM Coordinator.Ms. Anabella Madalo.
