August 31, 2026 — The City Government of Panabo joined the nation in commemorating and celebrating National Heroes Day, a regular holiday observed throughout the Philippines. The commemoration was held at the Museo Grounds, Panabo Parks and Plaza, Barangay New Pandan, Panabo City.

The occasion honored both known and unsung Filipino heroes who fought and sacrificed for the country’s freedom, tracing the nation’s history back to the beginning of the Philippine Revolution in August 1896.

City Mayor Jose E. Relampagos was represented by Executive Secretary Jo-Anne Relampagos. Also in attendance were City Vice Mayor Hon. Engr. Franklin Gentiles and City Councilors Hon. JM Relampagos, Hon. Omar Ranain, Hon. Ian Roler Catalan, and Hon. Bae Merlinda Aranar.

The event was also attended by invited guests, representatives from national and local government offices, and members of various public and private institutions and organizations who joined in paying tribute to the heroes who contributed to the nation’s freedom and history.
