Proposed City Ordinance No. 04, Series of 2025, “An Ordinance Providing for the Temporary Closure of a Portion of Aguinaldo Street to Corner Magsaysay Street, Barangay Sto. Niño, Panabo City” and City Ordinance No. 05, Series of 2025, “An Ordinance Providing for the Temporary Relocation of Fruit Vendors Affected by the Public Works Project of the City of Panabo”
September 4, 2025 – There will be a temporary road closure from a portion of Aguinaldo Street to the corner of Magsaysay Street in Barangay Sto. Niño, as discussed during the public hearing held together with the Joint Committees on Ways & Means; Government Enterprises and Public Works; Infrastructures; and Public Utilities. The hearing was presided over by Committee Chairman Hon. Omar P. Ranain, Hon. Fortunato Sumampong, Hon. Emeterio Blase, and attended by Hon. JM Relampagos, conducted at the Committee Hearing Room, New SP Building, JP Laurel, Panabo City.
Hon. Ranain explained the reason for the said road closure — due to the infrastructure improvement project involving the construction of a minor bridge over a creek within the Premiumed Market in Barangay Sto. Niño.
During the hearing, fruit vendors affected by the road closure and relocation were also present to express their concerns to the councilors.
The ordinance regarding the temporary relocation of the fruit vendors affected by the public works project inside the Premiumed Market was also discussed.
According to the ordinance, the vendors will be relocated due to the ongoing construction of the project. They will be temporarily transferred to Aguinaldo Street, in front of the City Economic Enterprise Management and Development Office, up to the corner of Magsaysay Street (Teachers Village).
The relocation is being implemented to allow them to continue their livelihood while the city project is ongoing.
Present at the activity were Assistant City Administrator Brenda A. Sauping, CEEMDO Head Dulce Relopez, City Engineer Bernardo A. Rabanoz Jr., TMDS Head Alvin Ybañez, and barangay captains.
