November 3, 2025 – Panabo City. The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Panabo City recognized nine (9) young athletes who represented the city in the recently concluded Batang Pinoy 2025 during a simple awarding ceremony held at the Lobby of the Panabo New City Hall.
As a gesture of appreciation and encouragement, Executive Secretary Jo-Anne Gentiles-Relampagos personally handed out cash incentives to the medalists, which came from her own funds. The incentives were given in recognition of the athletes’ hard work, dedication, and success in bringing honor to the city through their medal-winning performances.
Out of the 185 delegates who participated in the competition, Panabo City proudly brought home eight (8) medals earned by nine (9) athletes across various sports disciplines.
🥉 Bronze Medalists:
- Rilon Albert Orga – Wushu (Category B – 45kg)
- Jhames Ghant C. Orga – Taekwondo (Junior Featherweight Division)
- Jigs Justine T. Abian – Wrestling (Under 15 – 57kg Category)
- Jan Anthony T. Saludar and Kaye Maxime A. Catapan – Dancesport (Youth C Modern Standard)
🥈 Silver Medalists:
- Kaitlyn Apusaga – Taekwondo (Junior Women – Middleweight Division)
- Myron Cedric Pulmones – Cycling (Criterium Road Bike Category)
- Azhriel Hezekiah Garao – Gymnastics (Men’s Artistic Gymnastics High Performance 2 Floor Exercise)
🥇 Gold Medalist:
- John Ray V. Tayag – Cycling
The event was also attended by City Sports Coordinator Ryan Jay Requidan, together with the coaches and trainers who guided the young athletes throughout their journey.
The local government expressed its pride in the athletes’ achievements and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting grassroots sports development and youth excellence in Panabo City.
