The City Cooperative Development Council (CCDC) successfully opened the newly rehabilitated cooperative building on March 19, located at Barangay Salvacion, Panabo City.

According to Elvie Caro of the CCDC, the cooperative building will serve as a venue for trainings for public and private sectors.

During the inauguration, Councilor and Committee Chair on Cooperatives, Emmanuel “Mawe” Pamisaran thanked the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) for making the project possible.

“We have to be thankful to TUC for adopting us and making this project possible and also to Ma’am Judith Lee for her guidance while the rehabilitation was ongoing,” Pamisaran said.

Prior to the rehabilitation, Caro explained that the meeting space was small and not conducive for a large crowd. Thus, the council requested a budget amounting to P3million to the Office of the Congressman, Antonio “Tony Boy” Floirendo Jr, in 2016. However, it was not implemented due to the zero budget allocated in Davao del Norte 2nd District.

With this, the rehabilitation was funded by the TUCP in 2018 due to 2nd District’s zero funding. Additionally, the City Mayor’s Office led by City Mayor Engr. James G. Gamao allocated P700,000 for the installation of ceiling, tiles, and repainting of the building.
