READ | COMELEC conducts election simulation in Panabo City
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) conducted two Vote Counting Machine (VCM) Roadshows at ARF Gym for the general public, and at the City Hall Lobby for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens on April 22, 2019.
According to Atty. Gay Asuncion-Enumerables, COMELEC Assistant Regional Election Director for Region XI, said, the event aims to give information to people on how to use the ballot sheet correctly and its technicalities for the upcoming 2019 midterm Election on May 13, 2019.
The participants experienced on how to properly cast their votes on the ballot through shading with the use of the official marking pen provided by the COMELEC Staff, and the Dos and Don’ts during election day.
Some of the prohibitions that the public should be mindful about are eating inside the voting room, vandalizing the ballot, overvoting, and taking pictures of the ballot among many others.
Carlo Jay Glodo, a participant of the said event said he felt nervous yet excited since it is his first time to vote.
Meanwhile, one of the PWDs extended his gratitude to COMELEC for this event is very helpful and for giving them the opportunity.
“Dako kaayo ni siyang tabang labaw na sa amo kay gihatagan mig higayon sa COMELEC og pasalamat pud k okay isa mi sa ilang girpiority,” he said.
