Gamao said as he gave his speech for today’s 77th year of Araw ng Kagitingan at the Museo Panabo Grounds, Parks and Plaza, Panabo City.
It is memorialized by Flag-raising and Wreath-laying ceremonies headed by City Mayor Engr. James G. Gamao followed by the Sangguniang Panglungsod Members, LGU Department Heads, Congressional Office, DepEd/Schools/Academe, National Line Agencies, Churches and Religious Groups, Private Companies and Establishments, GO’s and NGO’s, and Veterans.
Further, a 21 Gun Salute was performed by the Philippine National Police (PNP) which symbolizes respect to our fallen Filipino Fighters. Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), also called Bataan Day, marks the annual commemoration of the Fall of Bataan during World War II in 1942.
