City Mayor Jose E. Relampagos signed on October 9,2020 the Memorandum of Agreement of the implementation of Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) by virtue of Republic Act No. 11055 or otherwise known as “Philippine Identification System Act”. This was recommended by the Sangguniang Panlungsod through Resolution No. 704, s. 2020.
The Philippine Identification System aims to promote efficient and simplified means for both public and private transactions by registering all Filipinos and resident aliens into an established national identification system.
The MOA signing was attended by OIC-Regional Director of Regional Statistical Service Office(RSSO) Pepito D. Amoyen, Supervising Statistical Specialist of PSA Davao Del Norte Rufino B. Oraño, City Civil Registar Department Head Evelyn A. Somozo, MPA, CHRMO Department Head Henry M. Esparagoza, and City Administrator Pedrito M. Misoles.
