PANABO KONTRA DROGA!

Panabo City’s celebration of the Nationwide Drug Prevention and Control Week kicks-off Monday November 19, 2018 with a motorcade followed by a ceremony at the City Hall Lobby. City Officials, partner agencies and employees wear white to join to join the campaign against illegal drugs. The events for the Drug Prevention and Control Week are as follows:
November 19 – Graphics Design Contest
November 20 – Book Making Contest
November 21 – Quiz Bee
November 22 – Basketball Competition
November 23 – Culmination Day, Photojournalism Contest, Dance and Song Writing Contest.
Schools are also conducting simultaneous activities in support of the City’s campaign against illegal drugs. This celebration is brought to you by the City Government of Panabo through the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, in partnership with the DepEd Panabo Division and PDEA Region XI.

Different schools in the city conducted activities campaigning against the use of illegal drugs and its ill effects to our society.
Together with the active parternship with the academe, the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council intensifies its efforts to further prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs and eventually wipe out this evil in the society.

THANKSGIVING, BLESSING & TURN OVER CEREMONY OF SCHOOL BUILDING.

Mayor James Gamao led the Blessing and Turn-over ceremony of the newly constructed two (2) Storey School Building at A.O. Floirendo Elementray School II on November 20 at Purok 25, Brgy. San Vicente.

The School Building was funded thru Special Education Fund by Local School Board of Panabo City. The School Building worth P17.5 million has eight (8) classrooms and the construction started on September 28, 2016 and was completed last November 3, 2018. Moreover, the Half Hectare School site was donated by AIEC-Anflocor.
Rev. Fr. Roel Delos Reyes officiated the Thanksgiving Mass, also in attendance were; Dr. Dee Silva, School s Division Superintendent, Councilors Flopone Royle Catalan, Emmanuel Pamisaran and Gregorio Dujali III, School Head Julius Juen, Brgy. Captain Lisa Bucala, PTA President John Espiritu, Faculty members, parents, students and guest.

MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT TO ESTABLISH AN X-BAND RAIN RADAR

Earlier| DOST PAGASA and LGU-Panabo sign a Memorandum of Agreement to establish an X-Band Rain Radar in Brgy. Datu Abdul.
The rain radar will increase the capability of PAGASA in terms of rainfall monitoring, rain forecasting, flood early warning system and flash flood monitoring. This will oversee the 2 major river basins in Davao and Tagum.
Better than a rain gauge, the radar will be able to detect weather conditions within 40 km radius that covers Panabo and surrounding areas like Davao, Tagum, Sto. Tomas and other cities and municipalities.
