Panabo City Water District (PCWD) has sealed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation to improve the water quality in the city.
Through their Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) signed on March 14, Prime Water will provide for the financing, development, rehabilitation, expansion, improvement, operation, and maintenance of the water supply and septage management system in the city.
Prime Water Managing Director, Caroline Cadeliña said that they are investing P3 billion in the next 25 years. In the first year, P200 million will be allocated as they will prioritize the improvement of treatment facilities and water quality in the city.
She further stressed that improving the water system in Panabo will entice more investors resulting to economic growth and better living standards of the locality.
Conceding that the capacity of the local water district is limited, PCWD’s Chairperson of the Board, Dominador Casiño explained that with the tremendous complaints, insufficient water supply, and increasing population and economic activities in Panabo, entering into a JVA with Prime Water is the best solution in solving the city’s water problem.
Prime Water is a Filipino-owned company and is one of the premier water utility solution and service providers in the Philippines.
