TODAY| 25 newly-organized members of the City Monitoring and Evaluation Team (CMET) for Nutrition undergo Training on Updated Monitoring and Evaluation Protocol (MELLPI Pro). The CMET is composed of personnel from different departments of LGU-Panabo and the members of the City Nutrition Committee.

The CMET will be using the MELLPI Pro, a newly-implemented results-based tool to evaluate and monitor the nutrition status of the city’s constituents, the nutrition programs of the city, and the performance of the local nutrition workers.

Retsebeth Laquihon from the National Nutrition Council XI, the resource speaker, also discussed the background of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN 2017-2022).

Laquihon emphasized the City Nutrition Council should give outmost importance to the “First 1000 Days” of the child (from the mother’s pregnancy to the child’s 2nd birthday) which is crucial in building the child’s ability to grow, learn and thrive.

The CMET will proceed to the evaluation of the barangays tomorrow right after the training.
