In this year’s Regional Competitiveness Summit, Panabo City moved five (5) steps higher from last year, placing on the 31st spot in the overall ranking of Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI).
The CMCI is a competitiveness ranking framework based in key indicator areas of Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, and Resiliency.
This year, Panabo ranked 8th in the infrastructure pillar, while it occupied the 18th spot in terms of resiliency in the component city category.
According to DTI Secrerary Ramon M. Lopez, most foreign investors refer to the CMCI results to help them decide where to locate, and invest their money.
With this, the CMCI would be a key driver for LGUs to be more competitive and attract more investments.
Moreover, the Province of Davao del Norte placed 3rd as the Most Competitive Province all over the Philippines, following the provinces of Laguna, and Rizal respectively.
Special Assistant to the President, Christopher “Bong” Go was also present as guest speaker during the event.
